Contact Franklin Record Custodians

This Is Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. Franklin Residents Directory is a private reference. We cannot retrieve documents, certify a copy, confirm where someone is located, amend a government record, or remove a person from an official roll. Send those requests to the office that holds the record. For an emergency, call 911. If stalking or harassment is occurring, contact local police.

Need a Particular Franklin Record?

Choose the custodian that created or maintains the record. These links sort common Franklin research needs by record type rather than treating unrelated public sources as one database.

  • Street, parcel, or land research: use By Street for the Franklin Assessors, GIS, and Norfolk Registry routes
  • Historical directories and past household research: use City Directories for library, Museum, and digitized-volume routes
  • One public record or verification question: use Resident Lookup to identify the appropriate Town, county, court, or state source
  • Office routing: see Franklin records offices for the custodians behind municipal and county records
  • Records not posted online: send a precise request under the Massachusetts Public Records Law to the responsible records custodian

The Town Clerk handles local certified vital-record copies within the Town's custody rules, elections and voter-list administration, business certificates, and related municipal records. Franklin's general Form Center includes public-records requests except for Police.

For a police log, crash, incident, or arrest-report request, use the separate Franklin Police public-record request form. The Police Records Access Officer listed in the research is Kristin Gutauskas Donovan, 911 Panther Way, phone 508-440-2763, email kgutauskas@franklinma.gov. Court records belong with the relevant clerk or register under the Trial Court's access rules, not the Town's public-records form.
